Chicken Road game – how InOut’s crash game really works
One chicken, a busy road and a cash-out button. Chicken Road became one of the most talked-about crash games of 2024. This guide explains its four difficulty levels, the real odds behind every lane and, importantly for British readers, why you will not find it at UK-licensed casinos.
Cross the road
Pick a difficulty, then step lane by lane. The numbers are the game’s own maths; the outcome here is random, as it is in the game.
The chicken is on the kerb. Press Step to cross the first lane.
Play money only. Multipliers follow the 98% RTP model behind the game; the real version also caps cash wins per round.
UK-licensed casinos with crash and instant games
These casinos hold UK Gambling Commission licences and carry instant games from licensed studios, though not Chicken Road itself. Their welcome offers are for the slots named in each one.

How a round of Chicken Road works
You set a stake and choose a difficulty. The chicken waits at the side of the road, and each press moves it across one lane. Every lane it survives raises the multiplier on your stake, shown above the lane before you step.
After each lane you choose: cash out at the current multiplier, or step again. If the chicken is hit, the round ends and the stake is lost. There are no reels, no free spins and no bonus features; the whole game is that one decision, repeated.

Difficulty levels and the real odds
The maths works like a 25-square grid with a set number of losing squares. Easy hides one, Medium three, Hard five and Hardcore ten. Each lane you cross removes a safe square, so the odds get slightly worse as you go, and the multipliers grow to compensate.
| Mode | Lanes | First-lane risk | After 1 | After 5 | Last lane | Clearing it all |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 24 | 1 in 25 | 1.02x | 1.22x | 24.50x | 1 in 25 |
| Medium | 22 | 3 in 25 | 1.11x | 1.98x | 2,254x | 1 in 2,300 |
| Hard | 20 | 5 in 25 | 1.22x | 3.36x | 52,067x | 1 in 53,130 |
| Hardcore | 15 | 10 in 25 | 1.63x | 17.34x | 3,203,385x | 1 in 3,268,760 |
On Hardcore, four in ten first steps end the round. The multi-million multipliers at the far side of the road are theoretical: the cash payout of any round is capped.
Why the RTP is the same on every setting
InOut quotes a 98% return, which is high for a casino game. The multipliers are built from the odds: each one is 0.98 divided by your chance of having got that far. Whether you cash out after one lane on Easy or chase ten lanes on Hard, the long-run return is the same. What changes is the pattern: frequent small wins on Easy, rare large ones on Hardcore.
Results are provably fair, using a server seed, a client seed and a counter that you can check after each round.
Stakes and the win cap
Stakes run from about one cent to a couple of hundred euros, depending on the operator. Each round’s payout is limited by a cash cap; published figures differ between sources and versions of the game, so the rules screen at the operator is the only reliable place to check it.
About the demo
InOut runs a free demo on its own website, though it may not load from the UK given the studio’s restrictions. The road on this page uses the same odds model and is a fair way to feel how quickly each difficulty bites.
The 2025 sequel on the highway
A sequel arrived in April 2025. It moves the action to a highway, adds more lanes per difficulty (30 on Easy down to 18 on Hardcore) and lowers the RTP to 95.5%. The UK restriction applies to it as well.
Staying protected as a British player
- Only play at casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission; you can check any operator on the Commission’s public register.
- Licensed casinos verify your age before any game opens and offer deposit limits and time-outs.
- GamStop self-exclusion only works at UK-licensed sites, which is one more reason to avoid unlicensed ones.
- Ignore prediction apps, Telegram “signals” and hacked versions; they do not work and are often scams.
If you want to try a similar game
- Open an account with one of the licensed casinos listed earlier.
- Upload ID so the casino can confirm you are an adult.
- Look in the instant or crash games section for a step-and-cash-out title from a licensed studio.
- Play its demo first and decide on a cash-out target.
- Set a deposit limit before staking real money.
Our view
Chicken Road is a clever, transparent game: you can work out the exact odds of every step, and the 98% RTP is generous. For British players, though, it is off limits through legal channels, and the unlicensed sites pushing it carry real risks.
Plus points
- 98% RTP
- Odds you can calculate yourself
- Four very different risk levels
- Each round can be verified
Drawbacks
- Not licensed for the UK
- Many clone and fake sites
- Rounds take seconds, so spending adds up fast
Common questions about the chicken
What is Chicken Road?
A crash-style instant game from InOut Games, released in April 2024. You guide a chicken across a road one lane at a time; each lane raises the multiplier, and you can cash out after any lane. If the chicken is hit, the stake is lost.
What are the difficulty levels?
Easy, Medium, Hard and Hardcore. Harder levels have fewer lanes but a much higher chance of being caught on each one, and far bigger multipliers to match: from 24.5x at the end of Easy to over 3 million x on Hardcore in theory.
How much does Chicken Road pay back?
InOut Games states 98%. That figure holds whatever difficulty you choose and whenever you cash out, because the multipliers are set to match the odds.
Is Chicken Road available at UK casinos?
No. InOut Games lists the United Kingdom among its restricted countries and does not appear on the UK Gambling Commission register, so the game is not offered by UK-licensed casinos.
Are “official” Chicken Road sites for UK players safe?
Be careful. Sites offering the game to British players are not licensed here, are not covered by GamStop and offer none of the protections of a UKGC licence. Some are outright clones.
Do prediction apps or signals work?
No. Results use a provably fair system with server and client seeds. Apps and “signals” claiming to know where the chicken will be hit are scams.
Is the payout per round limited?
Yes. Although the theoretical multipliers are huge, each round’s payout is capped in cash. Sources quote different caps, so check the game rules wherever you see it.
What can I play instead in the UK?
UK-licensed casinos offer other step-and-cash-out and crash games from licensed studios, such as Tower Rush by Galaxsys. They work on the same idea of choosing when to stop.
Look after yourself
Crash games are quick, and quick games make it easy to lose track of time and money. Decide on a limit before you start and stop when you reach it.
If gambling is causing problems, call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 at any hour, free of charge. GamCare and BeGambleAware offer support, and GamStop lets you exclude yourself from every UK-licensed gambling site.
